The Painter of Formal Image
The painter that prefers to stay on the border between the figure and abstract.
I was born in Elbasan, Albania, in 1967. After finishing my high school education at the "Onufri" Art School, where I focused on painting, I continued my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, for painting, from 1991 to 1995. My paintings tend toward decorativeness, with colors and light that are sometimes restrained and sometimes explosive. They also incorporate elements of contemporary art.
My interest in nature develops in two directions:
1. As a landscape painter.
2. As a modern formal image painter, using various motifs from nature. I am inclined to carefully observe unique elements and realize them onto canvas, interpreting and creating nearly formalist works.
I enjoy working at the boundary between figuration and abstraction. My passion also extends to artistic photography, which I have pursued continuously over time. This has provided me with valuable material for my paintings.
I have consistently participated in various exhibitions held in Albania, and I have also had a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana. Additionally, I have exhibited abroad, in countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, and Kosovo.
Since 1998, I have been working at the "Onufri" Art High School as a professor of art.
